Thank you for visiting our web site! We are a full-service quilt shop offering quality fabric, notions, supplies, kits, books, classes and an owner and staff with a passion for quilting. In addition, long-arm quilting services, with a two-week, guaranteed turnaround, are offered.

The shop offers 100% cotton fabrics from Maywood Studios, Moda, Benartex, Henry Glass, Hoffman, Red Rooster and Stonehenge to name a few.  Browse over 200 bolts of batiks, and check out the Civil War reproduction fabrics. The shop also features a great baby room full of playful and pastel fabrics and a large selection of flannels. And Dakota Quilt Company offers the largest variety of ready-to-go kits in the Black Hills!

Our Mission is to provide a warm and friendly location to browse, look, see, feel and purchase quality fabric, books, patterns and all supplies for quilting and sewing projects.

The Dakota Quilt Company was founded in 1997 on Spearfish Main Street, located on a corner lot, with excellent off-street parking and easy access. The store doubled its size in 2004 with the addition of  a room that is used for classes, clubs and additional inventory. Additional work to the physical property, improved landscaping and curb appeal was also completed.
